Historical Development

Founded in 1978 by Mr. Lin Shih-fang and his two brothers in Fengyuan, Taichung,FOUNDER ALUMINUM CO., LTD. initially started with hand-made sand casting. With technological advancements, in 1984, we transitioned to semi-automated gravity casting and began exporting to global markets. From the furniture industry to the transportation industry, we have invested in the manufacture of aluminum furniture and mechanical equipment components, and have partnered with Europe's largest furniture company to produce aluminum furniture.

In 1998, we partnered with a European furniture giant to process, assemble, and package aluminum extrusion products, shifting our manufacturing focus from gravity casting to a new production model. This collaboration brought new opportunities for our growth.
In order to contribute to society and give back to the community, we established the Founders' Name Foundation in 2007, actively participating in public welfare undertakings and giving back to society through practical actions.

In 2008, facing challenges from labor shortages, technological gaps, and international competitiveness in Taiwan's traditional industries, FOUNDER Cast Aluminum began to consider future trends and plan its ten-year goals. Simultaneously, to meet the growing demand for orders and create a friendly workplace environment while reducing workplace injuries, we launched a Lean Production management training program in 2010. We hired a professional consulting team to train managers and employees, improve production line processes, reduce operating costs, and enhance management capabilities.

In the process of continuously enhancing our competitiveness in the international market, we have been automating our production and introduced robotic arms for automated production in 2010. This reform has not only improved production efficiency but also created a better working environment for our employees.

In 2011, we further shifted processing and packaging operations to robotic arms, significantly increasing production capacity by approximately 70% through human-machine collaboration. This push for automated production enabled FOUNDER to successfully address issues such as manpower, technology transfer, and standardization, and to create an industry with innovative added value.

To better showcase our growth over the years and the innovation in furniture design, we established our second factory in 2014, along with a furniture museum. This museum, using our own brand as a platform and supplemented by a collection of distinctive international furniture, has become a treasure trove of furniture design, providing a space for Taiwanese designers with ideals and aspirations to appreciate art, while also broadening their horizons, nurturing emerging industrial designers in Taiwan, and shaping design quality and taste.

Faced with an increasingly competitive international market, our management has been committed to smart manufacturing. Since 2011, we have introduced various automated equipment and in 2020, we have completely replaced the company's ERP system with the SAP system from Germany. At the same time, we have introduced the SCM (Supplier Management) system, cooperated with the Taiwan Metal Research Institute to install sensors on the machines, integrated all the hardware and software, built a war room, and grasped production information in real time to achieve production and sales traceability.

To continuously upgrade our smart factory, in 2020 we built a "gravity casting smart production line" and introduced automated gravity casting equipment. This decision launched FOUNDER 's second production curve. We actively adopt smart production technologies, integrating advanced technologies such as artificial intelligence and data analysis to improve production efficiency and quality, while saving resources and achieving environmental protection and sustainable development.

In 2021,FOUNDER ALUMINUM CO., LTD. was recognized by the Ministry of Economic Affairs with the 30th "National Rock" Award, an honor that demonstrates the company's outstanding performance and achievements in business operations. FOUNDER will continue to uphold its spirit of integrity and responsibility, constantly pursue excellence, and make greater contributions to economic development, becoming an even more solid "national rock".
